Drain for Camping Ground - TERRA-JET DJ 23 XL
Mechanical engineering – DJ 23 XL The Dutch contractor did these bores with the TERRA-JET DJ 23 XL. Equipped with a 101 HP (75 kW) powerful Deutz Diesel engine the TERRA-JET DJ 23 XL has thrust and pullback forces of 11 tonnes (23’000 Ibs), 3’100 Nm (2’300 ft. Ibs) torque and maximum rotation speed of 284 rpm at the drill rods. Intelligent assistant systems like the Thrust Control, the Curve Mode and the Cruise Mode makes the drilling much easier for the operator. The electronically AutoTork in combination with the ADBSe adjusts the pull back speed, rod rotation speed and torque automatically to the ground condition within milliseconds. The operator may relax, the machine does the work. The integrated camera on top of driving saddle allows perfect view at the drill rod connector. The camera view can be seen life at the cabin’s monitor.
Pilot bore and back reaming The pilot bore took 1 h. The contractor used a wide directional plate for good steering facilities. The back reaming was done with the reamer ø 200 mm. The HDPE pipe was pulled in within only 40 min over the length of 106 m (350 ft). Pic 1: TERRA-JET DJ 23 lays several drainage pipes for drainage. Pic 4: Good view onto the drill path. For the pilot bore of 106 m (350 ft) took only 1 h. Pic 5: The reaming was finished after 40 min. A reamer ø 200 mm pulled the HDPE pipe with the inner drain pipe. Pic 6: The reamer and the HDPE pipe arrive in the staring pit.
