TERRA-EXTRACTOR X 400
bursts old pipe DN 100 mm (4“) with expansion OD 324 mm (12.75”)
In the Swiss city Mühlethurnen the old water line from cast iron had to be replaced by a new HDPE pipe. This pipe renewal job was done by the specialist M/s Rudolf Frutig. The first section of the old pipe had a diameter of 100 mm (4”), all other sections were 125 mm (5”).
The new pipe was the HDPE pipe OD 250 mm (10”) which served as a protection for the 180 mm (7”) product pipe. The large expander cone DA 324 mm (12.75”) required a burster with high pulling forces. Mr. Rudolf Frutig decided to use his cable burster TERRA-EXTRACTOR X 400 with pulling forces of 400 kN (40 tons).
