TR 220 rams a steel pipe Ø 500 mm (20”) under Ringhotel
The German contractor Erich Thesing GmbH from Bocholt rammed a 9 m (30 ft) long steel pipe with Ø 500 mm (20”) under the hotel “Ringhotel” in the city Lünen. The steel pipe served as a protection pipe for Ø 400 mm (16”) sewer pipe. The contractor Erich Thesing has 30 workers, they decided to use the
TERRA-HAMMER TR 220 for this pipe laying job. Good ground conditions (sand and clay) and the high ramming energy of the TR 220 caused a high ramming speed of 3-4 minutes per meter (15-20 m/h, 50-56 ft/h).
Outer and inner cutting rings in front of the steel pipe reduced the friction to the ground.
This pipe ramming job was very well prepared. The steel pipe laid on a U-profile. The ram rings are assembled.
The TERRA-HAMMER TR 220 is lifted into the ram rings and tensioned against the steel pipe.
The lubricator is connected to the compressor and the TR 220.
Mission completed! Direction and inclination are correct. The next day the water jetting truck removed the ground from the steel pipe.
TERRA-HAMMER TR 220: small equipment with heavy efficiency.
