In the French speaking village Aire-La-Ville of Switzerland the TERRA-EXTRACTOR X 100 was used to replace a fresh water line. The existing line consisted of bad material. Several leakages had to be repaired during the last years. Therefore the Water Supply Company decided for a complete replacement of the 540 m (1800 ft) length. The contractor SCRASA SA decided for a trenchless replacement with the TERRA-EXTRACTOR X 100. The old pipe was cut with a 2-wing PE cutter. A new HDPE pipe was pulled in simultaneously. This replacement project was divided into 8 sections with a maximum section length of 73 m (240 ft). It was finished within one week.
The pulling cable is slid through the old pipe. Then the 2-wing PE cutter and the pipe adapter with the new HDPE pipe are assembled.
